The third album from Scottish indie five-piece Frightened Rabbit is lighter than their previous work, and has been described as "less brutal" than their early material. However, 'The Winter Of Mixed Drinks' still deals with the themes of loneliness and isolation, although less focused on songwriterScott Hutchinson himself. This is the first album to feature new member Gordon Skene, who joined the band to play various instruments and help reproduce their studio sound in a live setting.
