'The Chaos' is the Futureheads' fourth album, their first in two years, and is much heavier than its predecessors. Although the band's trademark angular indie-rock is still evident, the album uses much more distortion than earlier Futureheads work. This gives 'The Chaos' a 90s alternative sound, that recalls Blink 182 or early Weezer in places. However, 'Struck Dumb' - the first single from the album - is representative of the sound that they honed on their 2004 debut.
