Following two acclaimed EP's and numerous sold out splits and singles If I'd Had an Atlas is the long awaited debut album from Cats and Cats and Cats. Recorded by Forward Russia's Tom Woodhead and mastered by Billy Stull (Okervill River, Midlake) this 11 song journey is the sound of a band who have been carving their own musical niche with a satisfying blend of uplifting, anthemic, folk inspired pop. An early split EP with This Town Needs Guns placed Cats firmly on the radar of NME and Drowned in Sound who described Cats as "The musical culmination of everything good you can say about Mew and Arcade Fire". Subsequently the band have recorded several Sessions at the BBC's Maida Vale Studios as well as twice appearing at Glastonbury. After a month of touring in May Cats will be playing a few festival dates in the summer before heading out on tour again in late summer. The album's opening track If I'd Had Antlers will be released as a single in simultaneously alongside the album.
