It’s been three years in the making, but the third offering from Amplifier is finally here. ‘The Octopus’ is a double CD concept album that the band has painstakingly funded from their own pockets without any influence from a record label, and it certainly shows.
Lasting just over two hours, the concept album stretches over 16 impressive tracks, seamlessly falling into place with a sound that slowly progresses throughout the whole album. The differences between tracks such as ‘Minion’s Song’ and ‘Planet of Insects’ go to show the musical range of the three piece and the lengthy release illustrates this brilliantly.
